The old village of Qormi, is steeped in tradition, but is most famed for their delicious traditional Maltese bread. The village is dotted with no less than 50 bakeries and early in the morning the smell of baking is heart breaking. There is nothing nicer than a warm slice of bread with butter melting deliciously or otherwise dressed with tomato and olive oil, the traditional hobz biz-zejt.

In honour of this age-old baking tradition, the village of Qormi comes alive, with traditional music, art and food stalls. Everything is home prepared and delicious, a rich palette of tastes and colours.

Walking around the streets of Qormi, one might come upon an open air art exhibition, pop into a bakery to see how the bread is made, stop to watch a traditional band or dance and other forms of entertainment.
