Giuseppe Verdi’s La Traviata is Teatru Astra’s opera production for 2010. This opera will be performed at the Teatru Astra for the second time, following the huge success of the 15 April 1989.

Verdi’s three act opera will be staged twice: on Thursday 28 October and Saturday 30 October 2010.

This production will be undoubtedly the highlight of the ninth edition of Festival Mediterranea, which is organised by the La Stella Philharmonic Society.

Musical direction for yet another year will be in the hands of Prof. Joseph Vella, musical director of the La Stella Philharmonic Society since 1970. Also featuring the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra (leader: Marcelline Agius) and the Teatru Astra Opera Chorus (Choir Mistress: Dr Maria Frendo).
